Co-parenting

Privacy policy

Effective 2 November 2026

Co-parenting is a Google Calendar add-on that runs a parenting rotation on one shared calendar. This page says what it reads, what it stores and who can see it.

Where it runs

The add-on runs as an Apps Script project under the Google account of the parent who installs it. The developer never sees your data. Nothing is sent to any server outside Google.

What it reads and writes

It reads and writes events only on the one shared calendar chosen at setup. It reads other calendars the installer can see only to warn about conflicts and, if a school calendar is chosen at setup, to suggest holiday overrides. At setup it sets who can view or edit the shared calendar, and Google emails each person it is shared with.

What it stores

Setup data is kept in Apps Script properties inside the installer's own Google account. It holds parent names and email addresses, caregiver names and email addresses if added, children's first names if entered, the rotation pattern and a ledger of traded nights. Children's names are optional and stored only as typed.

What it sends

When a request needs the other parent's agreement, the add-on adds them as a guest on the request event, and Google sends them an invitation email. The add-on may send reminder emails about handovers from the installer's account to the parents and any caregivers.

There is no analytics and no advertising. No data is sold or shared.

Limited Use

Co-parenting's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Deleting your data

Uninstall the add-on, delete the shared calendar, and delete the Apps Script project named Co-parenting from your Google Drive, which removes the stored setup data and the ledger. Everything lives in your own Google account, so the developer holds no copy to delete.
